GOOD FOOD! GOOD HEALTH!

Food is essential, but not just any kind of food. How incredible will I have to talk to you more often about good food that can promote good health.

It will all begin when we start aging (in our 60s and above) and the effect of what we used to take in begins to manifest. Sadly it will manifest badly for some people and good for others.

Most people do, but some don’t know that food we take into our body system affects our lifespan. This means, that taking in the wrong combination of food or unbalanced nutrients in the food we take in can reduce the number of years we have to spend on earth due to intense illness, so sad.

These facts frightened me when I was a bit younger. So, carefully I tried to select the food I eat, but, here came the problem, of actually knowing what nutrients each food contains and how to combine them, plus they were nutritional foods we couldn’t afford, as my dad was a low-income earner. Notwithstanding, I knew that eating fruits and vegetables will help out with basic nutrients, so it became a necessity for me.

Let’s try to ponder on something. How did cancer come into being in this world of ours? According to the wiki, 22% of cancer cases are caused by tobacco, 10% are poor diet and obesity and possible exposure to ionizing radiation is another. We do hear cases of an average individual, who isn’t into smoking and alcohol, being defected by cancer. This means it’s possible to have cancerous cells within, without smoking or ionizing radiation effect.

Unfortunately, these cells grow intending to spread around the entire body. The ultimate cause of this is poor diet, poor feeding, lack of basic nutrients in food, and even lack of supplements. Think about this, why are athletes always on diet? To keep them agile, vibrant, and very lively and it turns out that a good number of them live longer even after retirement. The fact remains, if your body is given the basic nutrients it requires at a younger age. When old age comes, it plays along, of course with continuous nutrients to the body.

I read an article about America’s multi-billionaire, Warren Buffett. In the article, where the eating routine of the American investor even at the age of 90. According to the article, Buffett takes in lots of junk food, as a kid and in old age. I later saw a picture of him drinking a Coke soft drink. Interestingly, he is a major shareholder in the Coca-Cola company, Lol.

This got me thinking, and you could also be thinking, how can a man in his 80s/90s be taking such a drink, I’m not presuming that Coke is a bad product. Obviously, it isn’t, because our body needs sugar. But it was a little frightening to me.

But when I got to think about it more, I understood that Warren Buffett would never eat all these junk foods without taking supplements, which would help with basic nutrients, especially for his aging body.

Understanding how our body works is to our advantage, so we could watch what we do, what we eat, and what could break us down.

Understandably, the nature of some of our job limits us to getting fast food and junk as our daily meals. But thankfully, we have lots of supplements available to improve our health and reduce intense illnesses of any kind.

Most importantly, eating a balanced diet will improve our health and reduce illness.

Cheers!
